The Loukonen's started the stone business in 1890. Since the early 1990's, the company has grown from two hydraulic cutters and four employees to six hydraulic cutters, a sawing and polishing operation with over fifty employees. Some of the fifth generation of Loukonen's are employed by the company, and with the reserves still left in our quarries we are looking forward to another 30 generations!

We offer products such as ledgestone strips, flagstone, wall rock materials, boulders, slabs, and crushed rock.

When the Loukonen's started the stone business in 1890, stone that was removed was taken out and cut by hand, hammers, wedges, bars, and shovels. We have remained in that tradition to the present day, because this method of stone extraction provides the best quality stone product. The only thing we do different now is the use of forklifts to move the material and the hydraulic cutters for cutting the stone to dimension.
