Magic to quit smoking...
One of the hardest things about quitting smoking is figuring out what to do with your fingers after they can no longer handle a cigarette. What helped me with those cravings was, well, magic!
It’s not a usual quit-smoking method you hear about, but this is what helped me. After I quit, one day I picked up a deck of cards. At the time I didn't know any magic tricks; I just shuffled them. I found that handling them was kind of therapeutic. So I started carrying a deck of cards with me, and when my cravings started to attack I shuffled my cards, and I'd forget all about the desire to smoke.
As time went by and I got comfortable with the cards, I started to learn some card tricks. I bought a couple of magic tutorials on DVD and started learning the art of "sleight of hand." My interests grew, and over time I started getting pretty good. Although my oldest daughter, who was eight at the time, was (and still is) my biggest critic. "I saw that, you were holding two cards!" Yup, I couldn't get anything by her.
Months had passed, and overcoming the cravings that quitting smoking gave me has been getting easier, and in the process my magic has been getting better. So now I have magic to thank for helping me quit smoking for good, and for providing a fun activity that my children and I can share.
And it changed my business life as well! Through my search for new and fantabulous stuff to learn about magic, I stumbled across a helpful wholesaler. We corresponded back a forth a few times, and before long I became the owner of Fantabulous Magic.
And it all came about from quitting smoking. Thanks to magic, I'm still a nonsmoker to this day!
